Muna Ali PT, DPT, PHD

Muna Ali holds a PhD in anthropology from Arizona State University. Her research focuses on America Muslims, Western Muslims, religion in the public sphere, and on culture & health. She has authored articles or book chapters on Muslim Americans, bioethics, Islamic ethics and education. Her book titled “Young Muslim America: Faith, Community and Belonging” was published by Oxford University Press in 2018.

Dr. Ali also holds a doctorate in physical therapy and works in an outpatient clinic. She has served on boards and committees of several Muslim organizations and has volunteered as Islamic weekend school teacher, youth mentor and advisor, refugee re-settlement assistant, and women’s study group coordinator. She co-founded the Islamic Center of North East Valley, the Islamic Speakers Bureau of Arizona, the Arizona Muslim Historical Society, and the Rumi Center.
